Mohamed Nur, 34, had no known connection to Johanita.
He had a history of violent behaviour and mental health issues.
Described as having a ‘hunter mentality,’ Nur had been roaming the area seeking a victim.
His motives remain unclear, with the attack appearing entirely random.
Prior to murdering Johanita, Nur attacked three other individuals in Brixton on 29th April 2023:
Rebecca Wilkes: Suffered a 9cm facial cut.
Tomasz Kmiecik: Sustained a 15cm facial wound.
Katie Matthews: Endured a 6cm cut to her face.
These assaults were unprovoked and occurred within minutes of each other.
Witnesses to Johanita's attack promptly alerted the authorities.
CCTV footage captured Nur in the vicinity before and after the murder.
Forensic evidence linked him to the previous slashing incidents.
Nur was arrested on 2nd May 2023 during a stop and search in Brixton High Street, found in possession of a weapon fashioned from a piece of broken mirror.
The evidence against Nur was substantial, including CCTV footage and forensic links.
He was found guilty of Johanita’s murder and three counts of unlawful wounding.
Nur was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 32 years.
