In April 2018, career burglar Henry Vincent was fatally stabbed while breaking into the home of 78-year-old Richard Osborn-Brooks in Hither Green, South London. The case sparked national debate over self-defence, victims’ rights, and the community response, with Vincent’s shrine outside the house becoming a flashpoint of tension.
