About the Recipe
Laura Eliza Mordaunt-Chapman was a wealthy widow living reclusively in Twickenham who was found brutally murdered in her home in July 1936, with evidence of 47 stab wounds, a staged scene and no clear sign of forced entry. Albert Hadfield, a confectioner who had a close but supposedly fractious relationship with her, was charged with her murder but acquitted, and the case remains unsolved.
