In 2016, 31-year-old Oliver Dearlove was killed in Blackheath after being punched once in the head during a night out, collapsing and never regaining consciousness. His death, caused by a single act of violence, devastated his family and highlighted the tragic consequences of so-called “one-punch” attacks.
Victim: Oliver Dearlove, 30.
Perpetrator: Trevor Timon, 31.
Incident details: One-punch attack in the street after a night out.
Outcome: Manslaughter; six years’ imprisonment plus five on extended licence (2017).
