About the Recipe
Five-year-old Sayagi Sivanantham was fatally stabbed at her Mitcham flat on 30 June 2020 by her mother, Sutha Sivanantham, during what was found to be a serious mental health crisis. Sutha later pled guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility and was given an indefinite hospital order; the case spurred concern about failures in mental health care and support, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
